Nice one

OneMan makes a good point today about the governor’s plan to increase cigarette taxes by 75 cents a pack.

The governor said yesterday about smoking: “There’s no single voluntary act that causes more damage, more destruction, and more health care costs than smoking. If we raise the cigarette tax by 75 cents and raise the tax on cigars, we can generate over $150 million each year in revenue.”

OneMan responds:

So let me get this right, since smoking causes all sorts of costs to society as a whole we are going to raise taxes on smoking (ok, so far somewhat logical) But not to cover the costs to society of smoking but to build roads (so much for logic).

What about the invasion of Iraq?

    Ralph,

Give me a break! At least the Iraqui’s are on the road to freedom. Where were you and your anti-war stance when your beloved Slick Willy bombed Yugoslavia and sent our soldiers into a war we had absolutely no business getting involved in?

War sucks, but at least history will show that invading Iraq and getting rid of Saddam Hussein was the RIGHT thing to do.

    Dear Kool-Aid Drinker:

    1) Not one soldier died in combat in Kosovo.

    2) Clinton was dragged into Kosovo by Tony Blair and his Republican Secretary of Defense.

    3) I was against it.

    4) Don’t tell me what history will show. The WMD weren’t there. There was no connection to Al Qaida. The rape rooms and torture are still there. We’ve replaced a secular government with a bunch of religious fanatics. If you mean “RIGHT” as in fascist, I agree with you.

    Ralphy, Ralphy, Ralphy,

Amazing, you must have been the only person who knew there were no weapons of mass destruction! You are so scary smart, aren’t you?

You should be ashamed that the most powerful man in the world was “dragged” into the Yugoslav conflict by Tony Blair. Maybe something Monica was doing to him wasn’t allowing him to think straight.

I’m also amazed that you know that the rape and torture rooms are still there, again, scary smart.

Yes, you got me, I just saw the light and have become a bleeding heart liberal like you. And you know what, God have mercy on us when “we” (liberals) take over again, because these animals cannot wait for that day to attack us again only for you try and be best friends with these savages who HATE the U.S. and all we stand for.

I’m not going to continue this with you Ralph, it is obvious you are so very, very smart. I am just glad that the majority of the country doesn’t agree with you! Remember, as many of you liberals said prior to the election, you can always move to Canada. By the way, I do happen to like a nice cold glass of Kool-Aid.

    Good night, my friend.
