Deja Vu all over again

Thursday, Dec 15, 2005

Apparently, somebody didn’t learn from Monday’s litte episode here.

Ric Klau busts out an astro-turf blogger today.

The reactions to my comments about Tammy Duckworth’s campaign sure have been interesting. As expected, some of the comments (and private e-mails, of which there have been a number) express support for Christine and dismay at the DCCC’s handling of the race, a few have expressed support for Major Duckworth, and a few even addressed the substance of what I was writing about: the ham-handed efforts by a couple of local party officials to restrict Duckworth’s ability to solicit support at party functions.

And then there was this comment left earlier today by “Lisa”, who says she lives in Melissa Bean’s district and lays out why she thinks Duckworth is the right candidate. Interestingly, the IP address associated with Lisa’s computer is owned by the Democratic National Committee headquarters

He adds this update:

The DCCC is located on the 2nd floor of the building, so it’s entirely likely that this comment is from the DCCC and not the DNC…

Idiots.

Ha, I was just gonna post that Daily Kos had a post about this and how it was just like the Blagos posting on your site. Here’s the Daily Kos Post and comments:

Pretty slow day on the old blaggorama. Must have been a heavy list Christmas Party that kept the posters for the whole day. Only 40 comments.

These clowns must have a rare malady of being allergic to Internet computers at public libraries!

  4. - Tertius - Thursday, Dec 15, 05 @ 6:03 pm:

Yup - saw this on DailyKos as well, and my first thought was “Why don’t they learn?”

Sad about the Duckworth/Cegelis battle that seems to be brewing. It really does seem to be an issue of the beltway insiders feeling nervous about someone they did not ‘annoint’ perhaps getting this spot. Too bad, because an honest competition between the two would the best way to find a candidate who could best represent the district.

  5. - anon - Thursday, Dec 15, 05 @ 8:32 pm:

Can you believe Klaus has over 233 comments already to this issue? Check it out. Capitol Fax has just 4 as of 8:15pm. The tearing apart of Dems will only enhance Roskam’s positive situation. Rahm, pick your battles. Locals will not be bullied no matter how often an “outsider” appears on ABC with that Stephanopolis guy.

  6. - Vegancannibal - Thursday, Dec 15, 05 @ 9:39 pm:

Assuming the Emanuel/Durbin parade don’t screw up on the Duckworth petitions, here’s hoping this race at least raises visibility for the Dems in the 6th. Roskam is not getting off free as his primary may reveal him as a closet falangist. Should be fun on Mar 21 and afterwards.

  7. - Stone Hack - Thursday, Dec 15, 05 @ 10:14 pm:

Once again 6th District, elections are about VALUES . Choose the most electable candidate: Kucinich peacenik , Tom DeLay chicken hawk clone, female combat veteran. Put aside your goo goo naivete !!!

  8. - Anon - Thursday, Dec 15, 05 @ 10:38 pm:

Rich, are they idiots for doing this, or for getting caught?
