Rezko-Blagojevich video *** Updated x1 ***

Thursday, Oct 12, 2006 - Posted by Rich Miller

This video is of Tony Rezko whispering to Rod Blagojevich at a party. It’s most likely just an innocent little exchange, but I have a feeling it could find its way into a TV ad.

This clip is from a much longer video that was originally posted on Google Videos. But it mysteriously disappeared yesterday after Rezko was indicted and the ABC7 I-Team mentioned it in a story.

I’m hoping to have another video later today. Check back again.

*** UPDATE *** Here’s another one. This brief video shows Rezko and someone else escorting Gov. Blagojevich through the crowd. Nice soundtrack, too.

Tony: “Rod, we need to go to the other room, where all the shoeboxes are being stored”. Oops, wrong administration.

Serbia and Syria aren’t even on the same continent. Suggest you study your geography a bit more.

Also to Buck Flagojevich, who wrote:

The “lady” in the video is INDIAN, you know from India . . . suggest you brush up on “cultural issues”

  12. - The utter mendacity - Thursday, Oct 12, 06 @ 12:41 pm:

Rich, have Emil Jones or Mike Madigan returned your calls yet, or released any statements to the public regarding their continued support of Rod?

Them both being on his re-election committee and all… I’m sure they are busting to speak to the press about it.:-)

And I like the way Emil says the word: “Hubris”.

Can Governor Quinn appoint Whitney as a replacement Lt. governor?
I am not surprised Pat is running silent right now, it could break really bad or really well for him at any moment.

Based on what I think I know of Rod, he will fight to the very bitter end, rather than step down. The situation is much like that faced by President Truman regarding an invasion of mainland Japan or using the A-bomb. If I were a strategist for Mike and Emil, I’d say for the long-term good of the party, throw Rod under the bus sooner not later; give the feds all the accumulated dirt on Rod and nuke him. If he still wins re-election, have him resign the day after “to devote my full energy to these charges” and put Quinn in charge of carrying on “the people’s business” while Lisa builds a portfolio and advance organization for the next term.

Quinn’s job will be like Jerry Ford’s: clean up the previous guy’s mess, plant some seeds, and try to leave on a high note to build for the future. Pat is probably the best qualified guy you could pick for that kind of job: always kin dof the outsider and famously ignored and shunned by the Blago mob, he can thumb his nose at the machine (with it’s own secret blessing), clean house, mend fences with the legislature, make the hard, politically unpopular decisions that will put Illinois finances back on track, and take all the heat from frustrated powerbrokers while they groom Lisa to take over. It will be a mayfly kind of term of office, but like Rutger Haur in Bladerunner, he will have done amazing things in a short time, things that will get schools named after him some day.

Rod will be lucky to get a pawn shop named after him.

Ok, one more: Tony, “Hey Rod, who’s this Rico guy the Feds keep mentioning to me?”

  17. - Angie - Friday, Oct 13, 06 @ 3:20 am:

Is it true that Rezko is/was involved with Panda Express? Love Chinese/Japanese food big time, but Panda is horrible. Doesn’t taste like real Chinese food. Now I think we know why. lol

  18. - LakeILGOP - Friday, Oct 13, 06 @ 6:41 am:

JBT, it’s been days now. Where are the commericals????

  19. - Yes - Friday, Oct 13, 06 @ 12:28 pm:

JBT needs to run his “asleep at the switch” comment, only have the words floating above HIS head. What a loser. I mean, what a loser.

He didn’t know who Sister Claudette was at first? He didn’t know Stuart Levine needed to go? He didn’t know the people closest to him were crooked? Jesus! How the heck is he going to govern Illinois in the age of terrorism? I’m telling you, campers, this guy will have all kinds of characters let into his administration. Nation of Islam radicals, people of questionable business ethics, and so forth.

This guy has got to be the #1 most requested Halloween costume this year, because he is S-C-A-R-Y.
