Monday, Nov 6, 2006

I’ve posted the Illinois weather map in the center column as well. Let’s use this post for local weather observations on Tuesday and musings on the weather’s impact on the big race.

  1. - (618) Democrat - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 9:20 pm:

The forecast is rainy for South of Springfield. Mild and partly cloudy for the North end of the State. More good news for Democrats.

  2. - Citizen A - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 10:07 pm:

Are you saying democrats are only fair weather citizens? Tsk tsk tsk !

  3. - Citizen A - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 10:10 pm:

Just proves that when it gets stormy you can always count on Republicans, God bless them - they keep this country on track.

  4. - Walking Wounded - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 10:15 pm:

    Rich,
Love the Weather Channel. It’s my escape from the real world. Don’t care what anyone else thinks, or what the weather forcast is, all my friends and family south of I-80 are highly motivated to vote for the Republican ticket.
    Go Judy!!

  5. - Anon (for obvious reasons) - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 10:56 pm:

From the perspective of an executive-level state agency employee with 15 years of experience, the forecast is for four more years of state government not being able to manage its way out of a paper bag.

But then again, what’s the alternative - the goofball or the socialist?

  6. - JakeCP - Monday, Nov 6, 06 @ 11:18 pm:

I hope Judy comes out big time. It seems like Republicans would come out in more numebrs than the Dems if there is a big storm just because they would really want a Republican Governor. My mother doesn’t care how bad it may get she is still going to vote for Judy. Hey ya’ll read my endorsement for Judy Bara Topinka at Jcpolitics.com and click on latest Chicago Political News. I cannot wait until tomorrow.

  7. - Gregor - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 12:32 am:

Oh, there’s a storm coming, all right. And no amount of money is going to buy Gilligan, er, I mean Captain Rod an ark tough enough to weather it.

  8. - Blogopster - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 1:02 am:

Am I seeing this correctly? The Fog is lifting, people will see clearly on election day. No more hanging mist of negativity. Just a clear choice for the Candadates who will bring FAIRER weather!

  9. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 3:22 am:

Nice weather in the morning helps turn-out in Chicago. Nice weather in the evening hurts. So does darkness. Sunset is 15 minutes later in Carbondale.

  10. - Yellow Dog Democrat - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 3:22 am:

If Topinka sees her shadow, it means two more years of Rod.

  11. - Stuck with Sen. CPA - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 3:48 am:

Aurora native Tom Skilling says mostly cloudy in the upper 50s later today. Out here in Aurora, it’s 47 and clear right now as I wake up to get ready for the big D ground game here. Gov. Elvis, whom I couldn’t bring myself to vote for, likes the forecast for the day. It smells like … victory.

  12. - RickG - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 5:21 am:

Just got into work today, and it’s the worst fog I’ve seen in over a year in southern Illinois. Who knows when that will burn off, probably sooner rather than later, but it’s a grim start.

  13. - Disgusted - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 5:32 am:

Darn, I was hoping for an ice and rain storm for Chicago.

  14. - Chicago Anon - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 6:09 am:

    Drizzly, but warm enough.

  15. - Six Degrees of Separation - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 7:28 am:

If Topinka sees her shadow, it means two more years of Rod.

I think Pat Fitzpatrick has seen Rod’s shadow already.

  16. - Stuck with Sen. CPA - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 8:43 am:

Of course, right after I posted above, it started drizzling and was until 7 or so. Low turnout so far.

  17. - RickG - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 8:53 am:

Just in case anyone’s curious, it’s STILL pea soup outside. Feels like we’re in downtown London on the Thames. We’re on a frontage road off a major state highway, and I can’t see the highway itself (though I can see the cars/headlights). Just weird.

  18. - Squideshi - Tuesday, Nov 7, 06 @ 9:47 am:

It’s gloomy outside, and this will hurt the Democrat machine’s get out the vote efforts. That will be to the advantage of Whitney and Topinka.
