Tim Nieukirk’s “victory” speech

BOOM-Shakalaka!

The Get Nieuked ticket got 16 write-in votes in the City of Peoria alone.

It’s not too late to help retire the Get Nieuked campaign debt by buying a t-shirt, button or trucker cap at their CafePress page. Go help them out.

I indeed got nieuked on tuesday. i could not harbor voting for any of the 3 candidates on the ballot. so i got in there and made the last second decision to write him in.

BOOOM Shakalaka - US Senate in ‘08!!!

  3. - Cal Skinner - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 4:19 pm:

It appears that the YouTube candidate came in second among Peoria write-ins. He got 16. Randy Stufflebeam got 222.

  4. - Dark Knight - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 4:30 pm:

I find your fascination with this odd-ball, well, odd.

  5. - Robbie - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 4:31 pm:

There actually was a Stufflebeam yard sign on my route to work the last few weeks. Not sure if he got many votes in Galesburg.

  6. - Walking Wounded - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 4:40 pm:

Oddball? I wouldn’t go on to say that. Unconventional, maybe…and definitely unique. I admire how fashionable the Lt. Governor candidate dresses; hat and tie, a real classy fellow. Glad to see there were some Central Illinoisians who weren’t afraid to get Nieuked. Go get ‘em next time, Tim!

  7. - Rich Miller - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 5:00 pm:

DK, it’s a joke. People can be so serious in this business.

  8. - Jeff Trigg - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 5:03 pm:

Judging from the very few authorities that are reporting write-ins, Stufflebeam should pass 5,000 easily and may get 10,000 votes or more. I’d be curious how that compares to history in Illinois. I think Nader in 04 got around 5,000.

Thanks to the Nieuk for the entertainment.

  9. - Levois - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 6:00 pm:

I think Republicans should hire this man. LOL!!!

  10. - Shelbyville - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 6:55 pm:

Levois - we certainly couldn’t do any worse than we already have. :)

  11. - Frank - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 7:12 pm:

    Hallelujah!

  12. - Tessa - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 7:59 pm:

God Bless Nieuk for giving me something to smile about this election season. I’m gonna miss him. Maybe if he sends in his resume, Blago will give him a job?

Unfortunatley, only one vote for the Nieukirk campaign in Champaign County. It wasn’t me either.

  14. - Carl Nyberg - Thursday, Nov 9, 06 @ 9:34 pm:

Jeff, my observation closing polls is that most judges either didn’t know how to count write-in votes or they didn’t care.

The electronic machines are more efficient at recording write-in votes than the old system.

  15. - Shadoobie - Friday, Nov 10, 06 @ 9:51 am:

Tim got 11 votes in Sangamon County. A protest vote if I ever saw one.

  16. - train111 - Friday, Nov 10, 06 @ 11:26 am:

Out of 8 counties so far tabulating write-in votes (Champaign, Crawford, Douglas, LaSalle,McLean, Peoria, and Sangamon)
    The results are as follows:

Stufflebeam 1,418 (He looks to get a respectable total for a write-in candidate.)

    Neiukirk 55

    McCoy (Libertarian) 47

    Mike Shorten 2

    Albert “Barney” Sloan 7

    Martin Koch 1

    Angel Rivera 1

    David Sito 1

There you have it from someone with way too much time on their hands!!
