Olin Kreutz is to Bears, what Butkus was to the Bears. It is a joy to watch that man control an opposing defensive line’s attack.

  2. - Andrew - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 9:42 am:

That was a fun game to watch. I hope the Bears offense can settle down and that the defense can find a way to play with Tommie Harris on the sidelines without losing a step. Nonetheless, I think they are serious Super Bowl contenders. Go Bears!

  3. - Snark - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 9:45 am:

Even more fun that waking up this morning to find out that Sportscenter opened with Barack’s “Dun dun dun dun”, was watching Hester light up the Rams right after little game torry holt was caught on the sidelines bragging about how Hester was easy to beat.

  4. - Levois - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 9:46 am:

Bears fans answer me this one question. Does Rex Grossman really suck?

  5. - Dooley Dudright - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 9:57 am:

New Bears offensive strategy: cut out the middleman.

Just longsnap it straight to Hester, and tell Grossman/Griese/Orton/whomever to make like a bobblehead doll and watch. Presto, no more atrocious QB screwups! (Snark, snark.)

  6. - da obama - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 10:54 am:

Da Bears find a way to win, regardless of what QB is taking snaps. This is one of those years that you just have to wait and see who steps up (or doesn’t) in each game.
I will say Barack pulled that off nicely. The guy is everywhere. When is he going to start doing guest appearances on sitcoms? I’m not sure what else is left?

  7. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 11:31 am:

Grossman can do things that Orton could not, like pass downfield. Rex was good last night, but an adequate Rex will suffice. The defense stunk against a good offense of the Rams.

  8. - capitol view - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 12:15 pm:

Rex is still learning - most good quarterbacks emerge after four or five years of bench sitting and on the file mistakes. His problem is that he is fairly short and mostly immobile. But the team sees him as a leader, and I see him as not admitting that he hurt his hand three weeks ago — which is why he has played so poorly lately. He still wants to overcome that reputation for being “fragile”.

He’ll never be a great one, but the Bears don’t need a magic man at quarterback. The Bears are “in the mix” going into the playoffs - any one or four or five teams are Super Bowl worthy. Luck and avoiding further injuries are more important now than how good Rex may eventually be. That bye week before the rest of playoffs is needed by the Bears - their scheduled bye week came too early in the season.

And Obama could do worse than to link up with a hardnose sports team. Let’s see if he continues cheering for Da Bears. He should at least show up for a moment in the booth for the first playoff game, in Chicago… even if his body type is more like Luol Deng of the Bulls.

  9. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 3:09 pm:

Off the subject, but throwing into double and triple coverage is not symptomatic of an injurred hand, but poor decision making.

  10. - Establishment Republican - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 3:25 pm:

I would rather have Devin Hester in the U.S. Senate than either Durbin or Obama.

  11. - Snark - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 7:36 pm:

Yeah but would you rather have Hester or Shimkus? Or are you unable to reply because your head just exploded from THE AWESOME?

  12. Pingback Reverse Spin » Why did Barack do it? - Tuesday, Dec 12, 06 @ 10:14 pm:

[…] The evidence is the lack of commentary today about how/why ESPN-ABC granted Obama a multi-million dollar freebie last night as a lead-in to Monday night football. When bearing gifts to the God, Tony Rezko’s side yard looks downright cheap compared to a free 60-second spot (via CapitolFax), complete with fake Oval Office set and professionally written copy slapped onto a teleprompter. […]

    “That smile is pure platinum.”????

More like joy that the Rezko real estate fiasco didn’t get much play. Yup - this guy MUST be the new political Messiah.

Hi. I find forum about work and travel. Where can I to see it?
    Best Regards, Michael.
