* Zorn: “Day in and day out, the pantomime routines in the General Assembly can fool you into thinking that the process is pretty much like what your middle-school civics teacher taught you about how a bill becomes law. But when it comes to big, controversial issues, it’s much more like what your history teacher taught you about how monarchs dominated the peasantry.”

There’s no doubt that the battle starts at getting on the ballot. Any system that requires new party and independent candidates to collect five times the number of signatures as established parties is undemocratic, despite that our state constitution says that all elections shall be free and equal.

  2. - Pat Hickey - Thursday, Jan 11, 07 @ 12:57 pm:

Hey Squideschi, How Green is Josh Kilroy?

  3. - Squideshi - Thursday, Jan 11, 07 @ 7:36 pm:

I don’t know Josh Kilroy, so I can’t speak to that.

  4. - Pat Hickey - Thursday, Jan 11, 07 @ 7:42 pm:

    Thanks all the same, Squideshi.
