Regrettably the Governor’s scaled back health care plan will not pass. But because it loses by a significant margin he will have a moment of poltical rationality and opt not to prolong the agony of the overtime session.

I think I predicted Aug. 1 way back in January. Now I’m going to say Aug. 3, before 6 p.m. (they won’t hang around another weekend)

Just wondering, how long has it been since the members last pulled the “stopping the clock” stunt… which I have heard about from those who have been around the Capitol way longer than me.

Fall football practice starts at my son’s high school on August 8. Other sports start the week of the 13th. I say the Governor and General Assembly will feel pressure from disgruntled parents and students and knock out a budget by August 15.

When will the Cubs win their next World Series?

Is that a Cubs hat she has on? I think I know that look.

  40. - fedup dem - Friday, Jul 27, 07 @ 1:38 pm:

January 9, 2008, at about 11:57 am, just before the January session is scheduled to begin.

  41. - Pensioner - Friday, Jul 27, 07 @ 2:06 pm:

Moe: 2006? That was last year.

  42. - Hoosiers can do it, why can't we? - Friday, Jul 27, 07 @ 3:24 pm:

It will actually be a 2-parter: a six-month bare bones budget approved sometime around the evening of Aug. 5th, and a supplemental budget that will be approved just before November to finish the year and cary out a reduced version of Rod’s combo platter.

  43. - one of the 35 - Friday, Jul 27, 07 @ 3:44 pm:

Who cares? But what a great picture!

  44. - Wilbur Wood - Friday, Jul 27, 07 @ 5:04 pm:
