    The Last Supper

  2. - Snidely Whiplash - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:39 am:

Don’t worry, Rod. The belly dancer agreed to do your fundraiser gratis in exchange for this statehouse gig.

  3. - Illinois Insider - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:40 am:

A politician sits next to a prolific fundraiser that nobody , including the other pols who took his money, knew at the time had questionable business practices. I bet there are similar photos with Rezko and just about every elected official in Illinois from Cook County.

  4. - downstateyp - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:42 am:

I wonder…are those feds coming for me or you?

  5. - Wumpus - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:42 am:

TOny, let’s bundle some money for that young, dynamic, articulate Obama!

  6. - Snidely Whiplash - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:43 am:

That had better be the regular Friday envelope you’re slipping into my back pocket, Tony!

  7. - Illinois Insider - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:43 am:

Also no I am not a big fan of Rod . I was against the Gross Receipts Tax and his style is one I don’t agree with always, BUT
I feel that the notion that his relationship with Rezko is any different from Rezko’s relationship with Daley, Stroger, Madigan, Obama, Jones, etc etc is just plain silly. People who hate Rod, jump to every worst conclusion possible about him but give everyone else a free pass. The criticism over policy is legit, but I think there is a bit of “rush to judgement” and double standards on this rezko issue with Rod.

  8. - A Citizen - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:44 am:

Fitz just enters to join the party already in progress.

  10. - Snidely Whiplash - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:45 am:

    Insider,

Not just anyone sits next to the governor at a small table during a fundraiser.

  11. - Bill Baar - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:47 am:

That Barack gives a great speech.

  12. - Levois - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:50 am:

I wonder if this pic came from someone’s camera or the media took this one.

  13. - Anon - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:55 am:

I wonder if that guy behind me will pick up the tab? Maybe I’ll just tell him I’m going to the bathroom and not come back.

  14. - OneManBlog - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 9:57 am:

    Tony who?

The governors office provided a picture today proving that he has ‘turned his back’ on Tony

  15. - pickles!! - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:01 am:

“Waiter, check please,” said the Gov. “And Rezko is paying. And he doesn’t tip well…”

  16. - Napoleon has left the building - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:04 am:

  17. - Joe Schmoe - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:06 am:

  21. - dc - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:13 am:

“You will all be glad to know that this event will not be photographed or shown on YouTube.”

(Just curious, what is worse: Blags picture with Rezko or Judy Baar Topinka’s picture dancing with Ryan. Interesting paradigm)

  22. - B - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:14 am:

Rod, can you pass the contracts please?

  23. - Trafficmatt - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:16 am:

As part of a plea agreement with Federal prosecuters, Governor Blagojevich agrees to super-glue his hands together whenever he is a room with more than 3 potential campaign contributors to prevent him from stealing wallets.

Don’t look back. Something may be gaining on you.

  25. - sarbanharble - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:24 am:

I’ve gotta agree with Illinois Insider on this one. A picture is worth a thousand words. No more, just a thousand. So wrap it up already.

  26. - Lay Low - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:25 am:

“Didn’t I tell you NEVER sit with your back to the door?”

Q2.) Which TWO individuals in the photo above are dishonest crooks!

  29. - the Other Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:28 am:

Not a caption, but doesn’t it look like Blagojevich is sitting on Rezko’s lap?

  30. - rodrigo - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:28 am:

Rod: “Tony, that reform and renewal talk gets me all fired up”

Tony: “Check’s in the mail Rod”

  31. - IncrediblyDumberThanYouThink - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:29 am:

Ah, the good old days when we did not have to share our thief/crony with Obama. Let’s have a hand for those times!

    – SCAM

  34. - Garp - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:32 am:

Were crooks of the round table.

We clap when we are able.

This Camalot was sure a fable.

  35. - KGB - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 10:33 am:

Rod: (muttering under his breath)”Damn. Don’t look now but here come some Feds and they look like they have handcuffs out.”

    Tony: (turning) Whaaa?!?

    Tickets to Governor’s fundraiser: $2,000
Kickback to Rezko to get a seat at the Governor’s table to gain “influence”: $10,000
Being lucky enough to have a seat on the other side of the table and not be caught in this photo: Priceless

  45. - Vole - Thursday, Jan 31, 08 @ 11:07 am:

Tony, thinking to himself: “man, the crap I got to put up and the people I have to hang out with to make a few million here and there. There has got to be something easier out there for someone of my stature and fame.”
