“There aren’t too many things that really care to tangle with a skunk,” Bluett said. “Some of the raptors will, particularly owls. Skunks are nocturnal for the most part. Owls are nocturnal. They’re the ones that are more likely to pick them off and they don’t have a sense of smell so it doesn’t bother them.”

For sheer mean ignoramus-osity, we give the nod squarely to 8th District Republican congressional whizbang Steve Greenberg who has stirred up a 1,500 year blood feud by arguing his foe, Melissa Bean, is a secret friend and agent of Serbian Neo-Fascist terrorists.

“There are a lot of unknowns about Martin Ozinga’s ethical problems and willingness to bend or break the rules to make a buck,” Rudominer said.

What kind of person would say something like this? The situation he is addressing has been investigated and the facts cleared Ozinga. Yet, Rudominer still claims that there is something wrong. He pretends to know something that no one else knows.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Ozinga was proven innocent. But that still doesn’t satisfy Rudominer, just everyone else.

Businesspeople are good people. Making a profit is not a crime. It is not a crime to be investigated when a complaint is filed. It is not a crime to be successful.

It is also not a crime to play politics like this. But it ought to be.

Ozinga isn’t even nominated. There is something wrong when good people interested in serving the public are attacked even before they are officially nominated by a political party.

If Halvorson cares about voters she would welcome any political opposition she faces. She needs to tell Rudominer to remember why you don’t smear people and why we hold elections. Guys like him will give her a bad name.

If Hastert and Poshard are going to help the governor pass his capitol bill is there a chance that they can pull a fast one and be sure that the governor’s office won’t touch that money. That was the subject of a recent episode of Public Affairs where they talked to Rep. Lou Lang about whether or not people trust the governor. Hopefully Poshard and Hastert realize that.

Who in the heck advises Greenberg? WOW its officially over.

  7. - Snidely Whiplash - Wednesday, Mar 26, 08 @ 11:43 am:

Judging from all of the rampant political corruption in this state, I’d say that the skunks never really left … they just took on a different form.

  8. - cermak_rd - Wednesday, Mar 26, 08 @ 12:12 pm:

I’ve seen a skunk a few times on evening walks on my office campus in Naperville. I give him/her (assumedly they can tell the diff, I can’t) a wide berth and it does likewise. I didn’t know they ate mice though, I was wondering which animal left the scat with bone frags and hair in it.

Where do you get this claim from? I don’t know of any evidence of an investigation other than the Tribune itself. How was he proven innocent?

    What a great thread!

“For sheer mean ignoramus-osity,…” Go, Greenberg, Go! LOL

And, Snidely, your remark just kept the laughter going.

    Thanks, guys!!!
