“U.S Rep. Bill Foster is traveling to points along the U.S.-Mexico border to shape his stance on immigration reform.”

Yes because immigration reform is all about locking the door and forcing immigrants into the criminal undergrounds to survive…. oh wait thats our current system. Not really much of a reform, but its nice to see Foster helping the republicans out with thier top concenrs. Perhaps he could work on getting flag burning banned next.

Any “American-made” energy will be sold at global market prices - that’s how markets work. How will this “bring down the cost of energy.” I thought this guy was a businessman?

Nice DNR launches new website and the only mention of the agency on the thing is where to report unusual behavior

    Yeah DNR

Rep. Kirk has also traveled to the Mexican border, and he decided to help the illegal aliens, according to Rosanna Pulido. Foster is more conservative than Kirk, on this issue.

Lots of energy modes and sources are not easily transportable or transmittable, and thus can mainly benefit the areas near where they are found and exploited. Nuclear energy requires a specialized power plant, fuel and a distribution network, and thus its reach is not far. Hydro, solar and wind power are similarly afflicted. Natural gas is not easily transported except by pipeline; ethanol corrodes most pipelines and usually must be trucked or shipped by rail. Oil and coal are rare energy commodities that are easily transported. A diversification and increase of energy modes and sources tailored to the locale might indeed bring prices down. Obie may otherwise be sort of a nut, but he’s not off the mark on this one.

Six, but take note: Tapping more oil sources was at the front of Oberweiss pitch. Setting aside that we are not tapping the available off shore oil sites for which permission already exists, Most of the Major oil companies are foreign owned and have a good contigent of foreign employees. tapping off shore oil is not really keeping money in the US per se. It is a good way to locate sources of oil closer to us.

Now nuclear, coal (coal gassification), methane, bio diesel, wind, solar, all things Oberweiass does not really discuss, great ways to generate power locally with US owned buisness.

One of the best solutions, solar power. The consumer demand and production of panels is to low to bring prices down. We need govt incetives to make panels affordable and to allow them to be mass produced at a cost effective level. Put panels on the roof’s of most american houesholds and you will see a substantial reduction in power consumption.

Also LED based light sources. Very long lasting and low power. We need to ramp up production of these to reduce manufacturing costs. Anyway lots of good ideas, but Obie was just pushing the republican big oil agenda of freeing up additional oil ites, even though they have yet to really make use of the existing off shore sites they have permission to drill.

May I suggest to Rob Sherman that he do this state a huge favor and sponsor a newspaper and television news ad, listing the transgressions of this current crop of legislators and their governor, that affect the tax-payers of this state and run it for a week right before the election. Just in case there are some people out there who are totally disassociated with the state of the state.
