Gutierrez is looking pretty stinky lately w/ Karbowski, the Senate seat and now these votes.

  2. - Scooby - Sunday, Dec 14, 08 @ 8:59 am:

When was the vote? There was a significant amount of time when Gutierrez was back home negotiating with Republic Window, Bank of America and Chase bank to end the sit in on behalf of the workers there.

No one understands the financial bailout, so that was an easier vote. But the Detroit auto industry — management and UAW — is apparently the worst thing that ever happened to the U.S. in some minds. Especially among Southern senators with non-union Japanese auto plants in their states.

Detroit and the UAW were the Arsenal of Democracy and played a bigger role in defeating the Nazis than Eisenhower, Bradley and Patton combined. We’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Rich, I’m fairly confident that Emanuel has already resigned from his House seat, even if Blago has been distracted to set the date for this special election.

So he could not have voted for or against the car industry bailout, and should be removed from this listing.

Weller voted??? I thought he had already moved to Central America.

CV: I read yesterday (or Friday) that Rahm has not yet resigned his House seat. (I provide a reference, but I have been hitting too many news sources lately.)

    You are wrong.

I’m afraid the auto rescue vote was the last shot in the Reagan Revolution. It still hurts, but we’ve seen it coming for years. I hope it was the parting shot from a vanquished enemy, one last bleep-you before this Congress adjourns.

  8. - HV in HP - Monday, Dec 15, 08 @ 7:27 am:

Gutierrez was in Chicago working on the Republic Windows thing during the Auto vote. You might have seen it on TV..

    What about Shimkus?
