This picture actually changes my mind on ethics reforms and makes me agree with Rich…

The lobbyists will always find a way through the fence to cozy up to our elected officials.

George, if we go with your analogy literally, at least the lobbyists make good eatin’. This being a democracy of course, it would be a very bad sign indeed if we had to go that far, so I’d like to think that we can actually at least rein them in. But, as with keeping pigs, it means constantly devising new schemes to prevent them from escaping and causing trouble.

Massachusetts Court Upholds Toddler-Pig Marriage - AP

Underscoring its original ruling last November, Massachusetts’ highest court said Wednesday that only full marriage rights for toddler-swine couples, not civil unions, would conform to the state’s constitution.

The ruling sets the stage for Massachusetts later this year to likely become the first state in the nation to allow inter-species marriages.

In a statement released Wednesday night, President Obama said the ruling was “deeply troubling.

“Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman, perhaps, but the final decision is not in my pay grade.” Obama said. “If these judges insist on re-defining marriage by court order, the only alternative may possibly be the constitutional process, which I may, or may not, support. We must do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage - I think.” Then the President’s teleprompter quit.
