    Why not? It isn’t like he has anything to lose. Sangamon cleared him today, the Senate Ethics Panel is a joke and presents little real threat to his membership, and he doesn’t really have any other options–either public or private.

    If someone wants me to hand over the only thing in the world of value that I have, I’d tell them to come take it from me too.

    That all being said, I hope he gets absolutely embarrassed in the primary; he deserves it.

    Rich, you beat me to it: late Friday is when you put out your most embarrassing but unavoidable public announcements, in the hope nobody will notice or care, because all the reporters are out getting blasted (present company excepted, of course).
